Thus saith the Lord God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob
Damascus, Damascus how great were thy walls and thy palaces of old, how wast thou respected amongst the Nations but now look at thee, for thou hast fallen into the pit of destruction because of the actions of those who rule thee against their own people. How hast part of thee become desolate and how desolate wilt thou become? For thy walls will turn red with the fire of destruction which is to come down upon thine head. Thus it is that thou wilt be given over to the sands of the desert and to be despised by those who once had great respect for thee. Also by the Nations who will say unto thee thou once was raised up almost unto the heaven but now thou art become the off scoring of the Earth, a dwelling place for foxes, rats, snakes and lizards. How will thy people mourn over thee when thou dost become no more a habitation for people, no more the sound of children playing in thy streets no more the hustle and bustle of life within thee only a deadly silence.
This is the Word of the Lord to thee.
