Thus saith the Lord God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob
Thus saith I unto thee at this time saith the Lord God of the whole of creation in as far as Brexit is concerned that the EU in the beginning set its red lines beyond which it will not go and also the British Government set its red lines beyond which it said it would not go yet in all of these negotiations the EU has not given so much as an inch whilst it is that the UK has compromised in every way it could to try and get a bespoke trade deal with the EU as has been proven in the latest agreement signed by the EU and the UK the red lines that the UK set have seemed to change colour first to orange and now to green in the hope not the certainty of getting a bespoke trade deal with the EU it’s the case of a carrot on a stick to lead the donkey down the path its owner wants it to go donkeys can be stubborn creatures either they will try to go in the opposite direction you want them to go or they will not move no matter how you try to get them to move thus the carrot on a stick. The carrot being the prospect and as said not the certainty of a bespoke trade deal with the EU thus it is thus far the negotiations are going one way and one way only the EU's way but in which direction is the EU seeking to get Britain to go. First and foremost the agreements of the transition period that the EU seemed to have made are concessions it was willing to make anyway if the UK had threatened to leave without a transition period. But the main sticking points in these negotiations are the EU's own rules and regulations on the single market the customs union and the adamant rules and regulations beyond which it cannot and will not go in as far as the free movement of goods and people are concerned. Which in effect if the rules and regulation are not and cannot be changed means that a bespoke trade deal with the EU goes out of the window it will not and cannot happen unless the EU implements drastic reforms in as far as the movement of goods and people the single market and the customs Union are concerned. So in what direction is the EU seeking to lead the UK in by this carrot on a stick. Let us consider the North South Irish border the fall back position that the EU refers to is virtually the realignment of the UK with the EU in as far as the Irish border is concerned in other words Northern Ireland stays within the EU and the border between the EU and the UK shifts to the Irish sea and in effect Northern Ireland breaks away from the UK. The other position is that the border reverts to the way it was before the UK joined the EU a hard Border and the last option which the Irish Government is and has been after all along is the reunification of Northern Ireland with the South which is, though not spoken, the aim of the EU including the reunification of Gibraltar with Spain. Like the carrot on the stick with the donkey so with the prospect of a bespoke deal with the EU it will not and cannot happen unless the UK Government is willing to give up Northern Ireland and Gibraltar and even then its a no go. Let’s put it this way that carrot will always be before the donkey until the EU has want wants from the UK and then in the end will cite the rules and regulations of the EU on the customs union the single market and the freedom of the movement of goods and people and that the only trade deal the EU will make with the UK is the same as any none member Nation. These negotiations in as far as a bespoke trade deal have been a pure waste of time and effort it simply cannot and will not happen.
